Yeoksam Youth Center Wins Prime Minister's Award at Youth Expo

Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced on the 24th that the Yeoksam Youth Center, operated by the district, received the Prime Minister's Award in the field of youth development and protection at the 20th Korea Youth Expo.

The Korea Youth Expo, hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, was held on the 23rd at the National Youth Center under the theme "A World Made by Youth, A Greater Korea." At this event, Yeoksam Youth Center was recognized as an institution supporting active social participation activities of youth through specialized projects and was the only district in Seoul to receive the Prime Minister's Award.

This achievement follows the consecutive honors after being selected as the Best Institution in the Youth Cultural Planning Activities category at the "2023 Evaluation of Excellent District-Operated Youth Facilities," hosted by the Seoul Youth Facility Association in December last year.

Based on these accomplishments, the district and the youth center plan to accelerate efforts in 78 projects across five areas: youth projects, recreational sports projects, educational and cultural projects, early childhood arts and physical education projects, and career projects.

District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong stated, "Yeoksam Youth Center is becoming a role model for many autonomous districts and youth facilities benchmarking it," adding, "We will promote specialized projects tailored to the characteristics of Gangnam-gu, such as youth drug prevention programs, to create a Gangnam where children and youth can realize their dreams."
