Cooperation for Training Professional Workforce in the Aviation Industry
Silla University and the Korea Air Traffic Controllers Association have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish a specialized educational institution for air traffic controllers.
The signing ceremony, held on the 23rd at the Silla University main administration building, was attended by President Heo Namsik and Kim Pilyeon, President of the Korea Air Traffic Controllers Association, along with key officials from both organizations. The event was organized to facilitate the smooth implementation of the "Establishment of a Specialized Educational Institution for Air Traffic Controllers" project, which was selected as an autonomous project under Silla University's Busan RIS (Regional Innovation System for Local Government-University Cooperation).
Through the agreement, the two institutions agreed to cooperate in the following areas: ▲exchange of information related to air traffic control ▲joint research and participation in projects related to air traffic control ▲development of educational programs related to air traffic control ▲and other matters mutually agreed upon as necessary.
Kim Pilyeon, President of the Korea Air Traffic Controllers Association, stated, "The association is composed of experts who have worked in the field of air traffic control for many years and are dedicated to the development of the aviation industry. As the related industry is rapidly advancing, we will support Silla University in training highly skilled and qualified controllers."
Heo Namsik, President of Silla University, said, "Our university is the only one in the southeastern region with an aviation college, and we are committed to nurturing talent in the aviation industry, including pilots, controllers, and maintenance engineers. Through this agreement with the Korea Air Traffic Controllers Association, I hope we will cooperate in cultivating highly skilled professionals required by the aviation industry."
