To date, approximately 44 teams and 250 students have participated in the program, receiving high evaluations through active motivation and educational support.
In this capstone design education program, executives and employees of Haesong Offshore Wind Power provided theoretical education on topics such as domestic and international market trends of offshore wind, development status, and offshore wind environmental and social impact assessments.
In the first half of the year’s education session, which involved about 50 university and corporate officials, students received mentoring while carrying out their projects, gaining more practical learning opportunities.
Executive Director Lee Beop-ju of Haesong Offshore Wind Power said, “Currently, many large-scale offshore wind projects are underway in Korea, and as the journey toward carbon neutrality continues, the demand for offshore wind will further increase. Therefore, nurturing offshore wind talent is a green investment for the future.” He added, “Haesong Offshore Wind Power and CIP will continue to cooperate and strive with local universities and communities through regional talent development programs and industry-academic cooperation so that excellent offshore wind talents can enter the industry and grow into professionals leading the offshore wind industry.”
Meanwhile, Haesong Offshore Wind Power Co., Ltd. is the Shinan offshore wind project corporation of CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners), the world’s largest green energy investment management company. It has obtained permits for two offshore wind power plants with a total capacity of 1.0GW and is currently undergoing the environmental impact assessment process. CIP is developing, constructing, and operating about 50GW of offshore wind projects in the global market.
