26 Billion Won Invested to Improve Quality of Life for Onsan Residents
Uljugun announced on the 24th that it has been finally selected for the 'Local Branding Activation Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The 'Local Branding Activation Support Project' is a 'regional specialization project' aimed at overcoming regional extinction by utilizing the unique characteristics of each area, providing comprehensive support from discovering local features to achieving tangible results.
A total of 44 local governments applied for this project, and after document screening, on-site evaluation, and presentation review, 10 local governments including Uljugun were finally selected.
With its selection, Uljugun will invest a total project budget of 2.6 billion KRW to implement projects such as establishing a comprehensive local branding plan themed on the Onsan Green Factory starting in the second half of this year.
A complex cultural space will be created, featuring a multicultural children's library, a community education center, and facilities for cultural and arts programs, serving as a cultural rest area and supporting daily recovery.
Additionally, initiatives such as 'one hobby per resident,' a multicultural relations information center to support local residents' settlement, and a communication and cooperation network between town makers and residents will be established to foster community through neighborly interaction and cultural sharing.
An official from Uljugun stated, "By linking the region's self-sustaining creative capabilities built through the Onsan Urban Regeneration New Deal Project with local branding, we aim to create a synergistic effect for regional revitalization," adding, "We will enhance regional competitiveness and vitality by operating Onsan village activity-based programs and improving the quality of life for local residents."
