Kia Wins Gold Medal for Indian Participant at Overseas Maintenance Technology Competition A participant in the Skill World Cup is taking the practical test for the comprehensive vehicle evaluation at the Kia Osan Education Center.

Kia announced that it held the 11th Kia Skill World Cup over three days starting from the 21st at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul and the Osan Education Center in Yongin. The event, which began in 2002 and is held every two years, aims to find outstanding overseas technicians and enhance maintenance skills.


Due to COVID-19, participants gathered in person for the first time in six years since 2018. Forty-two technicians from 40 countries took written tests on maintenance theory and practical tests on comprehensive single-part evaluations.


Sanchit Kumaru Ganggamaki Santakumal from India won the gold medal with a total score of 630 points. Samuel Robert Nichols from Australia and Diego Alonso Manrique Ortiz from Colombia received silver medals, while Guo Zhu Ping from China, Kiris Abildgaard from Denmark, and Michael Eymans from Belgium were awarded bronze medals. Each received trophies, medals, and prize money. Six recipients of the encouragement award received plaques and prize money.
