First, Samsung Electronics' 'Unfear' campaign won a gold prize. The Unfear campaign is a project that developed a smartphone app for people with autism spectrum disorder who have a fear of certain sounds. When wearing Samsung Electronics' wireless earbuds, 'Galaxy Buds,' and running the app, it recognizes sounds in real time and selectively blocks noises that cause stress to the user.
Samsung Electronics' 'Try Galaxy Fold Experience' campaign also won a gold prize. The campaign targeted iPhone users considering switching to Galaxy smartphones, allowing them to indirectly experience the foldable smartphone 'Galaxy Z Fold.' It synchronized two iPhones to provide a user experience similar to the actual Galaxy Z Fold.
At the 'D&AD Awards 2024' held in London, UK, Cheil Worldwide won a total of six grand prizes, including one silver and five bronzes. Established in 1962, the D&AD Awards is one of the world's most prestigious awards in advertising and design. The ceremony was held on the 22nd (local time) at BFI Southbank in London, UK.
The 'The Art of Hack' campaign, conducted by Samsung Electronics and Cheil Worldwide's Spain branch, won a silver prize. Inspired by Samsung Electronics' lifestyle TV 'The Frame,' which displays artworks on the screen in standby mode and can be used like a picture frame, the campaign utilized Spain's tax system to sell the electronic product as an artwork, thereby applying lower taxes.
Additionally, the following campaigns won bronze prizes: Samsung Electronics' 'Impulse' campaign, which developed a mobile app for people with speech disabilities; the 'Try Galaxy Fold Experience' campaign; Samsung Electronics' 'Micro Miracles' campaign, which expressed various fields where semiconductors are used in miniature form; and 'The Chat' campaign conducted with Breast Cancer Now, a UK breast cancer research and charity organization.
