National Security Office Appoints 18 Members to 2nd Policy Advisory Committee [Image source=Yonhap News]

The National Security Office announced on the 23rd that it has appointed the second term of policy advisory committee members. The National Security Office, chaired by Director Jang Hojin, held the appointment ceremony and luncheon meeting for the second term policy advisory committee members at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the same day.


The second term policy advisory committee of the National Security Office is composed of five divisions: diplomacy, security and unification, defense, national crisis management, economic security, and cyber security. Each division plans to provide advisory activities on policy formulation and implementation of the National Security Office, as well as major diplomatic and security issues. The term of the policy advisory committee members is from April this year to March next year.


The members are Professor Park Jaejeok of Yonsei University, Professor Seo Jeonggeon of Kyung Hee University, Professor Yoon Minwoo of Gachon University, Professor Lee Nayoung of Seoul National University, Professor Lee Jiyong of Keimyung University, Professor Jo Yoonyoung of Chung-Ang University, Senior Research Fellow Jin Changsu of Sejong Institute, Professor Jeong Guyeon of Kangwon National University, Professor Seong Hankyung of University of Seoul, Professor Park Jonghee of Seoul National University, Professor Kim Sunghyun of Sungkyunkwan University, Professor Hyun Hyejeong of Kyung Hee University, Chair Professor Kim Gwangjin of Sookmyung Women’s University, Chief Research Fellow Jo Namhoon of Korea Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA), Research Fellow Yang Wook of Asan Institute for Policy Studies, Founding Dean Cha Sanggyun of Seoul National University Graduate School of Data Science, Research Fellow Jeon Gyeongju of KIDA, and Professor Jang Hangbae of Chung-Ang University, totaling 18 members.


Director Jang requested at the appointment ceremony, "I ask for your generous advice to the National Security Office so that the Yoon Seok-yeol administration’s diplomacy and security policies succeed and our country can establish a new milestone of success in the international community."
