LED Lighting and Power Strips Support for Low-Income Households...Electricity Bill Reduction through High-Efficiency Products
Lighting Installation for 120 Households by July, Power Strips Provided to 2,240 Households
High-Capacity 6-Outlet Power Strips Provided...Expecting Green Living to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is implementing a project to provide electricity-saving supplies to low-income households, an energy-disadvantaged group.
This project was promoted to simultaneously achieve greenhouse gas reduction and solidarity with vulnerable groups. It aims to reduce the electricity bill burden on vulnerable groups who are easily excluded from energy use and to support voluntary green living practices.
The supplies include LED lighting and power strips. LED lighting consumes relatively less power and has a long lifespan, reducing economic burden. The power strips provided are high-capacity 6-outlet products equipped with overload protection functions.
The target beneficiaries are basic livelihood security recipients or near-poverty groups residing in Gwangjin-gu. LED lighting will be supported for 120 households, and power strips for 2,240 households. By July, households will replace fluorescent lamps and bulbs with LED lighting and be guided on power strip usage.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “This project links energy welfare improvement with the urgent task of responding to the climate crisis,” adding, “We will implement practical policies to support socially vulnerable groups and enhance energy efficiency.”
