LIG Nex1 (CEO Shin Ik-hyun) is participating for the first time in a defense exhibition held in Romania, targeting the European market affected by war.

LIG Nex1 announced on the 23rd that it is participating in the defense exhibition BSDA 2024 (Black Sea Defense & Aerospace), held in Bucharest, Romania, from the 22nd to the 24th.

LIG Nex1, participating for the first time this year, has set up a 108㎡ booth showcasing advanced guided weapons such as the medium-range surface-to-air guided missile ‘Cheongung II,’ the portable surface-to-air guided missile ‘Shingung,’ and the anti-tank guided missile ‘Hyeongung,’ as well as advanced technologies including the Harbor Defense System (HUSS) and unmanned anti-submarine warfare.

They are also actively pursuing participation in the NATO regional short-range/very short-range air defense network integration project, including Romania, and expanding exports to countries in the Black Sea region. Plans are underway to strengthen cooperation with key local defense companies.

Amid growing interest in K-defense, LIG Nex1 hopes that this first exhibition participation will lead to expanded exports in the fields of air defense, core harbor defense along the Black Sea coast, and aircraft-mounted armaments.

Kim Mu-gyeom, head of overseas business at LIG Nex1, overseeing European operations, said, “Since the Ukraine war, the Black Sea region and Eastern Europe have become fierce battlegrounds for technology among global defense companies.”

He added, “As a comprehensive defense company, LIG Nex1 will continue efforts to establish the status of K-defense in Europe based on the advanced technology accumulated so far.”
