"Travel Month" to Be Promoted Throughout June

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has designated the month of June as the "Travel Month" and will offer events and discount benefits for citizens and tourists.

First, visitors can enjoy discounted rates at tourist experience facilities such as the "Changwon City Tour Bus" and the "Jehwangsan Park Monorail Car."

The "Changwon City Tour Bus" is a double-decker bus that circulates around ten major tourist attractions in Changwon. The second floor of the bus is open-air, making it especially popular among children. During the "Travel Month," visitors can use the bus at a price 1,000 KRW lower than usual, and route information can be found on the Changwon City Tour Bus website.

The "Jehwangsan Park Monorail Car" is a tourism facility located within Jehwangsan Park in Jinhae, offering panoramic views of the area. During the cherry blossom season, it is often crowded and difficult to use. However, in this less busy June, to celebrate Travel Month, free rides will be offered to "children under 12 accompanied by an adult."

Various events will also be held to make Changwon's tourist attractions more familiar to the public.

On the 25th, at Gyeonghwa Station in Jinhae, a "small concert" will take place along with additional activities such as face painting, balloon making by a clown, CPR experience, and more. There will also be an "on-site event" for the first 250 participants. Those who leave a supportive comment on the Gyeonghwa Station promotional video will receive a tourism souvenir or a city tour bus ticket.

Starting in June, the "Changwon City Mobile Stamp Tour" will also be launched. This program offers souvenirs through a drawing for tourists who visit at least three out of fifteen major tourist attractions in Changwon. According to the Public Official Election Act, Changwon citizens are usually not eligible to participate, but during June's Travel Month, everyone, including citizens, can join.

Heo Yongin, Head of Tourism, said, "I hope this 'Travel Month' event will be an opportunity to showcase the beauty and charm of Changwon to many people," adding, "We will continue to develop various programs to vitalize the tourism industry in the future."
