Authorities in Vietnam are reportedly struggling with cases of people being caught doing yoga or dancing in the middle of roads. The trend, which originated from TikTok videos showing people dancing while crossing streets, seems to have spread in Vietnam, with individuals committing such acts to gain views.

On the 22nd, Yonhap News cited a report from the local Vietnamese media Tuoi Tre, stating, "Recently, a 30-second video showing five children dancing while crossing a crosswalk near the 'Dragon Bridge' intersection in central Da Nang City sparked controversy."
In the released video, many pedestrians are seen waiting at a red traffic light, while children who appear to be elementary school students ignore the signal and dance as they cross the crosswalk. The road they crossed is known as the busiest intersection in Da Nang.
Local netizens expressed concern for the children's safety, saying, "We have seen many videos of adults dancing while crossing roads," and "Children might be too distracted by dancing to notice oncoming cars."
This is not the first time people have been seen dancing in the middle of roads. On the 17th, five women in the central city of Dalat were fined between 100,000 and 200,000 Vietnamese dong (approximately 5,400 to 10,700 KRW) each for blocking a road and doing aerobics.
They parked their car and blocked one lane of a two-lane road, then performed aerobics on the road. Drivers slowed down to avoid them, causing traffic congestion, and when oncoming vehicles honked warnings, the women reportedly stopped their aerobics.
On the same day in the early morning, 17 women were caught doing yoga and taking photos in the middle of a four-lane road in Thai Binh Province in northern Vietnam. Local media such as VN Express reported that when authorities arrived to stop them, three members of the group left the road, but the remaining 14 stubbornly continued their yoga session.
The yoga lasted for over an hour, and although it was early morning, a considerable number of vehicles passed by, creating a dangerous scene.
They reportedly stated that they performed yoga on the road to capture scenes symbolizing "flowers blooming." The police fined each person about 150,000 dong (approximately 8,000 KRW) for illegal assembly and traffic obstruction.
Local media reported that 'digital creators' are committing these acts to gain views.
