According to diplomatic sources cited by Kyodo News, the two leaders are expected to reaffirm trilateral cooperation among South Korea, the United States, and Japan in response to North Korea's nuclear and missile development.
The South Korea-Japan summit is likely to be held in conjunction with the South Korea-China-Japan summit scheduled to take place in Seoul on the 26th to 27th. President Yoon, Prime Minister Kishida, and Chinese Premier Li Qiang are expected to attend the trilateral summit.
