About 60 University Student Volunteers and S-OIL Employees Participate in Environmental Conservation Activities
On the 22nd, S-OIL held the "Adopt-a-Beach Care Campaign" together with university student volunteers from the Ulsan area at the Mokdo beach in Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, which it adopted as a "Banryohaebyeon" (Adopt-a-Beach).
S-OIL is taking a commemorative photo with university student volunteers from the Ulsan area after conducting a beach cleanup activity at the beach near Mokdo, Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, which they have "adopted" as a "companion beach."
Supported by the Ulsan Volunteer Center, the event was attended by S-OIL employee volunteers and about 60 members of the Ulsan University Student Volunteer Group. They collected marine litter such as discarded plastics and abandoned fishing gear along the coast near Mokdo in Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, which S-OIL was the first in Ulsan to adopt as a "Banryohaebyeon." In addition, they conducted a campaign encouraging anglers to take their trash with them.
The Ulsan University Student Volunteer Group, operated by the Volunteer Center, was established in 2006 as a coalition of five local universities and is now in its 19th term. Over 800 local university students are registered and actively participate in various volunteer activities for the local community.
In addition to the "Banryohaebyeon" campaign for marine ecosystem conservation, S-OIL also conducts five annual projects to collect underwater waste and sediment at ports and harbors in Ulsan, so that Ulsan citizens and fishermen can enjoy a clean sea.
