Four Players Withdrew Last Week at Doosan Match Play

A warning has been issued regarding injuries on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour.

KLPGA Tour 'Injury Warning'... 'Park Ji-young Also Out' Park Ji-young

With nine tournaments held this year, players are struggling with poor physical condition. Park Ji-young, who has secured two wins this year and nine wins in total, has withdrawn. She was scheduled to participate in the E1 Charity Open (total prize money of 900 million KRW) held from the 24th at Ferrum Club in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6605 yards), but suddenly complained of abdominal pain and gave up on competing. This marks her second consecutive absence following her withdrawal from the Doosan Match Play last week.

She was a strong favorite to win this tournament. She entered the top 10 three times, including victories at last month's Mediheal·Hankook Ilbo Championship and the 10th Kyochon 1991 Ladies Open on the 5th. Leading with a long drive averaging 252.48 yards (9th) and a pinpoint iron shot accuracy with a green hit rate of 78.67% (4th), she reached the top. She ranks 3rd in prize money (43,276,271 KRW) and points for the overall title (178 points), and 2nd in average score (69.56 strokes).

Many top players also withdrew from the Doosan Match Play. Four-time champion Jang Soo-yeon gave up competing from the first day of the group stage. Due to the aftereffects, she did not participate in the E1 Charity Open. Besides Jang Soo-yeon, Lee Jung-min, the 2010 tournament winner, also withdrew from the Doosan Match Play. She is a player who has accumulated 11 wins, including last month's major victory at the Chris F&C 46th KLPGA Championship. Additionally, Jung Yoon-ji and Yoo Seo-yeon2, members of the Winners Club, withdrew midway due to injuries and poor condition. 'Fortunately,' Lee Jung-min and Yoo Seo-yeon2 registered for the E1 Charity Open.
