Recently, a video titled "A shocking remark from a part-time worker on their first day" was uploaded on social media. The CCTV footage, apparently filmed at a restaurant, captures a conversation between the new part-time worker and the owner.

On that day, the store was quiet due to a lack of customers. When the owner said, "It's pretty slow today," part-time worker A replied, "I hope it stays like this." This was a direct expression of wanting no customers so they wouldn't have to work. When the owner asked, "What are you saying?" A responded with a smile, "I said I hope there are no customers at all."

Angered, the owner scolded, "That's not something you should say in front of me," to which the part-time worker smiled and explained, "I'm naturally honest. I didn't mean anything bad." The owner tried to correct the worker's words and continue the conversation, but the worker did not change their stance. Eventually, the owner fired the part-time worker just one day after they started.

Netizens who saw this story reacted with comments such as, "Calling someone like that clueless," "Clearly shows lack of proper upbringing," "They should be paid for the day they worked and sent away to avoid backlash. They might retaliate after being fired," "People like that gossip even after getting fired," "It's not honesty, it's rudeness," "Not all MZ are like that; it's just low intelligence being disguised as MZ," "That attitude is just disrespectful," and "Have they never experienced working in society?"

Meanwhile, conflicts between self-employed business owners and 'MZ (Millennial + Generation Z) part-time workers' are not new. On the 27th, a self-employed person sparked attention by saying, "I won't hire MZ generation female part-time workers again." B, who runs a business in a rural area, complained, "A newly hired part-time worker who said 'I'll work hard, don't worry' is supposed to start tomorrow, but sent a text tonight saying 'I can't do it.' I don't know how many times this has happened already. Work is one thing, but both character and trust are the worst. I know not all MZ friends are like this, but there are really many bad ones." On the 26th, another story drew attention about a part-time worker who frequently called in sick with false excuses, causing headaches for the employer.
