On the 21st, CNN reported that on the 8th, a commotion occurred on EVA Air flight BR08 from Taipei, Taiwan to San Francisco, USA, when two passengers got into a physical altercation. According to a statement EVA Air sent to CNN, the incident began three hours after the flight took off when one passenger coughed. Another passenger sitting next to him tried to move to a different seat, but the seat he intended to move to was already occupied. This led to a verbal dispute between the original seat owner and the passenger trying to switch seats. The argument soon escalated into a fistfight.

The fight was eventually brought to an end by three female flight attendants. Footage from the incident shows a man in a white shirt and another man in blue clothing throwing punches in the airplane aisle, while a flight attendant tries to separate them. Two other flight attendants are seen holding the arms of the man in the white shirt from behind in an attempt to restrain him. Another female flight attendant calmly calms down a man who is shouting aggressively while pointing fingers. When the two men continued to charge at each other despite the flight attendants’ efforts to restrain them, some passengers intervened. Ultimately, the two passengers were separated and remained so until the plane landed in San Francisco, where they were handed over to local police.
EVA Air stated that the two passengers involved in the fight were foreigners but did not disclose their nationalities. The airline said, "Thanks to the prompt actions of the flight attendants and the assistance of some passengers, the plane was able to arrive at its destination on time." They added, "We will provide appropriate compensation to the three flight attendants involved and will conduct a more detailed investigation into the incident." The airline also emphasized, "The company has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward disruptive behavior on board."
