Gyeonggi Province is establishing an 'Integrated ERP System' to comprehensively manage the business activities of bus companies within the province, including accounting, personnel, transportation costs, and driving habit management.
ERP is an enterprise resource planning system that integrates management activities such as finance, accounting, and human resources within a company.
Since this year, Gyeonggi Province has implemented the Gyeonggi-type quasi-public operation system called the 'City Bus Public Management System,' and the establishment of an integrated ERP system is necessary for transparent and prompt cost settlement.
Accordingly, on the 20th, Gyeonggi Province held a meeting at the Gyeonggi Research Institute with local bus companies such as the Gyeonggi Bus Transportation Business Association, KD Transportation Group, K1 Mobility Group, and Seonjin Group to discuss the direction for promoting the integrated ERP system.
According to Gyeonggi Province, out of 75 city bus companies in the province, 65 are currently using ERP systems. The problem is that most use external programs, so they are not linked with Gyeonggi Province's bus management systems such as the Gyeonggi Bus Transportation Management System and Gyeonggi Bus Fine, making system unification urgent.
Since all urban bus routes will be converted to the public management system starting in 2027, Gyeonggi Province plans to promptly establish the integrated ERP system to ensure speed and transparency in the settlement process. Additionally, an application function that measures risky driving behaviors such as speeding and sudden braking by drivers will be introduced to prevent dangerous driving, and transportation costs such as maintenance, fuel, and insurance fees will be reduced.
Yoon Tae-wan, head of the Bus Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "With the implementation of the City Bus Public Management System and the establishment of the integrated ERP, the bus management system will be unified, enabling more economical and efficient bus operations." He added, "We will continue to consult with related organizations such as Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation and the Gyeonggi Bus Transportation Business Association to expedite the system establishment."
