Universal Ballet Company to Perform at Seoul Arts Center Starting the 31st
The Universal Ballet Company will perform "The Ballerina," the official invited work of the 14th Korea Ballet Festival, at the CJ Towol Theater in the Seoul Arts Center from May 31 to June 1.
"The Ballerina" is a work that realistically yet humorously depicts the daily lives of ballet dancers who struggle for that one shining moment on stage. It vividly portrays the ballerina's daily routine from the ballet company's rehearsal room to the stage and backstage, as if watching a vlog.
Artistic Director Yoo Byung-heon said, "This work was created after long and careful consideration with trust and affection for the members," adding, "We aimed to capture the true value of ballet art by showing how dancers learn new things and improve through countless unseen rehearsals for that one beautiful moment on stage."
"The Ballerina" was selected in 2022 as part of the Korea Culture and Arts Centers Association's "Bangbang Gokgok Cultural Sympathy Project" for joint production and distribution of performance content, and was performed in five cities nationwide (Hanam, Gunpo, Goyang, Yeongdeok, Jinju). Last year, it was also selected as an excellent national and public performance in the same project and performed in Haman.
Tickets for "The Ballerina" can be reserved through Interpark and the Seoul Arts Center website.
