President Yoon Receives Credentials from Ambassadors of 15 Countries Including Japan and Thailand to Korea

President Yoon Suk-yeol received credentials from newly appointed ambassadors to South Korea from 15 countries, including Koichi Mizushima, the Ambassador of Japan to South Korea, on the 21st.

The credential presentation ceremony held at the Yongsan Presidential Office was attended by resident ambassadors from Thailand and Japan, as well as non-resident ambassadors from Congo, Eswatini, Iceland, Suriname, Mauritius, Samoa, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea, Burundi, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mauritania, and Niger.

Credentials are diplomatic documents in which the head of state of the sending country guarantees the ambassador to the receiving country. Through the credential presentation ceremony, this document is delivered to the head of state of the host country.

After receiving the credentials, President Yoon took commemorative photos with each ambassador and then moved to the reception room for a cordial meeting.

The event was attended by Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, National Security Office Director Jang Ho-jin, First Deputy Director of the National Security Office Kim Tae-hyo, Chief of Public Relations Lee Do-woon, and Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs Park Chun-seop.
