Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon issued a stern warning on the 21st, saying that President Yoon Seok-yeol's exercise of the right to request reconsideration regarding the so-called 'Marine Corps Special Prosecutor Act' "will not be able to prevent public resistance."
In a post on his social media on the same day, Governor Kim questioned, "Mr. President, are you really not involved?" and directly criticized, "The exercise of the veto power is an abuse of authority for protection."
He continued, "While the investigation can be blocked, public resistance cannot be stopped."
Earlier, President Yoon exercised the right to request reconsideration concerning the so-called 'Marine Corps Special Prosecutor Act.'
Jung Jin-seok, Chief of Staff to the President, held a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office and stated, "President Yoon Seok-yeol has requested reconsideration from the National Assembly regarding the Marine Corps Special Prosecutor Act, which was passed through a Cabinet meeting."
