The 66th Regular Performance to Be Held
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will hold the Gumi City Boys and Girls Choir's regular concert, "Folk Songs of the World," at the Culture and Arts Center on June 21.
This 66th concert by the choir is centered around traditional folk songs from various countries, including Korea, the Czech Republic, the United States, China, Greece, and Mexico, inviting the audience on a world tour on an early summer night.
Under the baton of conductor Kwon Yujin, a variety of instruments such as the taepyeongso, haegeum, and accordion will highlight the choir's performance, which consists of about 60 members. In particular, the percussion ensemble "Sintakataka" and the soprano Kang Eungu are expected to enrich the concert with their outstanding performances.
An official from the Culture and Arts Center stated, "This concert is centered around folk songs from various countries and expresses our hope that the whole world will be filled with peace and joy. We hope citizens will experience diverse enjoyment through our children's clear and beautiful voices and harmonies."
All seats are priced at 3,000 won, and tickets can be reserved through Interpark and the Culture and Arts Center's website. Ticket sales will open at 2 p.m. on May 23. Gumi citizens and corporate employees will receive a 30% discount, families with multiple children and families of distinguished military service will receive a 40% discount, and new Gumi citizens within one year of moving in will receive a 50% discount.
