Cheonan-si Launches Service for Establishing Basic Strategies for Sustainable Development

Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, held a kickoff report meeting for the project to establish the "Basic Strategy and Promotion Plan for Sustainable Development of Cheonan City."

Cheonan City in Chungnam held a kickoff meeting for the project to establish the 'Basic Strategy and Implementation Plan for Sustainable Development in Cheonan City.'

This project, based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) shared by humanity under the Framework Act on Sustainable Development, will be carried out until November to establish a Cheonan-specific vision and goals.

The main contents include △ analysis of the current status of sustainable development in Cheonan City △ establishment of a basic strategy for 20 years △ establishment of an implementation plan for 5 years △ presentation of implementation projects and evaluation indicators for a sustainable Cheonan.

The city plans to form a 'Citizen Participation Group for Sustainable Development Plan Establishment' to gather opinions from various sectors, thereby fostering consensus and securing policy execution capability.

The citizen participation group, composed of local experts and citizens, will consist of a total of 60 members divided into 6 groups, who will establish key sectoral keywords for Cheonan City and discuss major tasks.

Deputy Mayor Kim Seok-pil said, "The sustainable development plan is about setting a century-long foundation for Cheonan," and added, "Related departments and researchers should continuously cooperate to establish a feasible plan linked to major policies and projects in each sector."
