Study Conducted on "Is the National Pension Level Really Not Low?"
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on the 21st that Nam Chansub, a professor in the Department of Social Welfare, has jointly received the '2024 Critical Society Academic Award for Alternative Research.'
The Korean Association of Social Welfare for Critique and Alternatives was established in 2011 to promote the theoretical establishment and practice of social welfare studies in Korea through progressive research and academic activities in the field of social welfare. Upholding the principles of securing autonomy, establishing practicality, ensuring openness, pursuing scientific rigor, and strengthening social solidarity, the association has held a total of 42 academic conferences and published 81 issues of the Critical Social Policy Journal.
The 'Critical Society Academic Award' was established to discover outstanding academic achievements that have contributed significantly to the establishment and development of progressive social policy in line with the founding purpose of the association, and to encourage academic research.
Professor Nam received the 2024 Alternative Research Award jointly for his research titled "Is the Level of National Pension Really Not Low?: A Comparison with Other OECD Member Countries (2022)."
Professor Nam Chansub stated, "I was able to receive this award thanks to the help of many people during the research process, and I will continue to make greater efforts for the development of social welfare studies in Korea. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all the recipients of this award."
