Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that it was selected as the best institution in Gyeonggi Province's 'Contract Review Operation Evaluation' this year.
The contract review system is a system designed to enhance financial efficiency by reviewing cost calculations, the application of construction methods, and the appropriateness of designs before public institutions issue projects. The province evaluated 31 cities and counties on overall contract review aspects, including ▲the establishment of dedicated contract review organizations ▲appropriateness of reviews ▲strengthening of work capabilities ▲excellent cases of contract reviews. Osan City has been selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years from 2020 to this year.
The city explained that it achieved good results in this evaluation by publishing contract review manuals and casebooks and conducting job training for project managers. Through this, the city implemented the contract review system for 208 cases of construction, service, and goods procurement last year, saving 2.1 billion KRW in budget.
Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, said, "We will continue to operate finances efficiently to prevent budget waste through fair and rational contract reviews."
