"Dedicated Student Guidance, Contributing to Student Empowerment"
Professor Lee Bora from the Department of Library and Information Science has been selected as the recipient of the highest education service award at Silla University.
Silla University (President Heo Namsik) announced on the 21st that it held the '2024 Silla Best Servant Teacher Award' ceremony.
On the morning of the 20th, at 11 a.m., the '2024 Silla Best Servant Teacher Award (BSTA)' ceremony was held in the president's reception room on the 6th floor of the university headquarters, attended by President Heo Namsik, Director of Educational Support Kim Seonghwan, Professor Lee Bora from the Department of Library and Information Science, who was selected as the awardee, and other key officials.
Silla University selected Professor Lee Bora, who participated in various forms of educational service in the extracurricular field, as the recipient of the '2024 Best Servant Teacher Award' and presented her with a plaque and prize money.

Professor Lee was recognized for her contributions to strengthening students' major and employment competencies and attracting new students, including operating customized curricula related to her major, leading extracurricular student guidance such as the 'University Student Book Reading Volunteer Group' and 'Employment and Entrepreneurship Study Group', running industry-academia cooperation programs with educational institutions in Busan (elementary schools, public libraries, etc.), promoting the department, and giving special lectures at high schools.
Upon receiving the '2024 Best Servant Teacher Award', Professor Lee said, "I am truly grateful to receive such a great award," and added, "Along with substantial major education, I will strive to strengthen students' competencies and contribute to the development of the university through various extracurricular programs."
Kim Seonghwan, Director of Educational Support at Silla University, said, "Professor Lee Bora's outstanding abilities and dedicated teaching have greatly helped students' career development and competency improvement, and have made significant contributions to the development of the department," adding, "We will continue to discover excellent faculty members and widely share exemplary cases to promote educational practices for student growth."
Silla University established this award in 2010 to discover and honor professors dedicated to the extracurricular field and to increase educational satisfaction. This year marks the selection of the 15th recipient. Candidates are recommended through each college dean and the student council, and the winner is determined through a review of achievements and on-site inspections by a panel of judges including professors and student representatives.
