Daechongho Nature Ecology Center to Resume Operations from the 21st

Special Exhibition of Rare Insect Specimens from Around the World at Daecheongho Nature Ecology Center Held in June Last Year / Dong-gu, Daejeon

Dong-gu, Daejeon announced that the Daecheongho Natural Ecology Center Rose Garden project has been completed, and the "2024 Daecheongho Rose Exhibition" will be held starting from the 31st.

According to the district, a total of 59 varieties and over 11,000 rose bushes are proudly blooming at the waterfront park and the Natural Ecology Center, attracting visitors.

The district also resumed operations of the Daecheongho Natural Ecology Center from the 21st and will hold a "Special Exhibition of Rare Insect Specimens from Around the World" in the indoor exhibition halls on the 1st and 2nd floors of the ecology center until June 20.

More than 50 specimens, including dioramas, depicting rare insects from around the world and their habitats in two- or three-dimensional forms are on display, and visitors can observe actual videos of the specimen insects through QR codes.

Additionally, visitors can touch and observe live aquatic insects such as janggu-aebi and water beetles, as well as popular insects among children like rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles, providing an interactive experience.

The visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the center is closed every Monday.

Park Hee-jo, head of Dong-gu, said, "This exhibition will be an opportunity for children to think about the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem conservation through a natural ecological experience," adding, "We hope families enjoy pleasant memories with their children while strolling through the newly created rose garden during Family Month."
