The Chilseo Water Purification Plant of the Changwon Special City Waterworks Office in Gyeongnam announced on the 21st that, as a result of the nationwide water purification plant hygiene management inspection conducted by the Ministry of Environment on the 17th to prevent larvae incidents this year, no larvae were found in any process.

"No Larvae Found" ... Changwon Special City Chilseo Water Purification Plant, Ministry of Environment Hygiene Inspection Shows 'No Detection' Ministry of Environment Hygiene Inspection Results: Larvae Not Detected.

This inspection completed the verification of the safety of tap water and proactive larvae prevention measures for the summer season by conducting ▲ an assessment of the hygiene management of purification facilities and surrounding areas ▲ monitoring for larvae ▲ checking for larvae in process water ▲ a detailed investigation of larvae in rapid and activated carbon filters.

Chilseo Water Purification Plant also systematically manages hygiene on its own every year by establishing a response plan for possible larvae occurrence, daily larvae monitoring, monthly cleaning and inspection of rapid filters, quarterly detailed larvae inspections, and occasional environmental maintenance. As a result of the plant's own preemptive hygiene inspection conducted in April across the entire production process, it was confirmed that there were no issues in the safe production and supply of tap water.

Furthermore, befitting its status as the plant supplying the largest amount of tap water in Changwon Special City, it has maintained a larvae-free purification facility to date. The results of daily inspections (including larvae checks) are transparently disclosed every day on the Changwon Waterworks Office website.

Lee Jongdeok, head of the Waterworks Office, stated, "We will not be complacent with the results of this hygiene inspection and will further strengthen preventive inspections to do our best to ensure the safe production and supply of tap water that citizens can trust, even in the event of water quality deterioration during the summer season."
