Yeongam-gun Announces Recruitment for Yeongam-style Public Housing Tenants for Youth and Newlyweds

LH Supply 30th Rental Sale, Applications Accepted from Next Month 3rd to 17th

Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) will recruit tenants for 30 apartments prepared through the ‘Yeongam-type Public Housing Support Project’ online and in person from the 3rd to the 17th of next month.

According to the county on the 21st, various policies are being implemented to improve living conditions in response to population decline and local extinction during the 8th local government administration.

The Yeongam-type Public Housing Support is one of the core projects to improve living conditions, aimed at providing stable housing supply for youth and newlyweds.

This project secures 300 public housing units through construction, purchase, rental, donation, and agreements by Yeongam-gun, and rents them to youth and newlyweds for up to six years without rental deposits.

The 30 public housing units to be rented this time are part of the first batch supplied by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and are located within the Yongang Humansia apartment complex in Samho-eup.

Applications can be submitted online via ‘Government24’ or by visiting the Yeongam-gun Housing Management Team. Yeongam-gun will select residents through the Residential Welfare Committee’s review and plans to rent the units so that tenants can move in starting July.

Eligibility for application includes youth aged 19 to 49 and newlyweds who are either residents of Yeongam-gun as of the application date or non-residents who can move in before the move-in date. However, newlyweds must have been married for less than seven years from the date of marriage registration.

Detailed information about public housing rental can be found in the announcement section on the Yeongam-gun website, and guidance is provided by the Yeongam-gun Housing Management Team.

A county official stated, “Improving living conditions, which is the biggest concern for youth along with quality jobs, is important to make Yeongam a place where young people return, and this public housing rental is a core part of such policies.”

Yeongam-gun has planned to prepare 300 public housing units by constructing and purchasing 100 units through youth public rental housing, local area cooperative housing, and vacant house utilization projects, and securing 200 units through LH institutional supply. To this end, three ordinances including the ‘Yeongam-gun Residential Welfare Support Ordinance’ were enacted last year, and consultations for the establishment of social security systems with the Ministry of Health and Welfare were completed in January.
