About 200 paragliding enthusiasts from across the country participated in this competition, which was divided into team events and individual events (trainee pilots, pilots, and women's division), with the winner determined by precision landing.
Precision landing involves placing a target board resembling a bullseye on the ground as the landing goal. Participants take off from Chilbosan Airfield at an altitude of 280 meters, fly in the air, and then land by stepping on the target point with their foot.
After intense competition, in the individual trainee pilot division, Park In-sik from the Jeonju City Association team took first place; in the pilot division, Choi Hee-deok from Sacheon City Waryong team won first place; and in the women's division, Song Kyung-sook from the Korea Sky Para team claimed first place.
In the team event, the Korea Sky Para team enjoyed the joy of winning first place.
A city official said, "Chilbosan Airfield is the best place for paragliding where you can cross the sky and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Jeongeup City," adding, "We hope this competition provides a great opportunity to escape daily life and experience a sense of accomplishment and freedom through the challenge of flying."
