A Garden Picnic Trip to Gwanak... The 7th Gwanak Urban Agriculture Festival Held Last year's Gwanak Urban Agriculture Festival site

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) holds a unique festival every year where residents can enjoy agriculture in the city and experience the joy of growing healthy and fresh vegetables.

The district will host the "7th Gwanak Urban Agriculture Festival" on June 8 at Nakseongdae Park and the surrounding Gang Gam-chan Garden area, where visitors can experience urban agriculture culture.

This year, to encourage more residents to participate joyfully, the festival will operate event areas in three categories (Experience Yard, Learning Yard, Culture Yard) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the theme "A Garden Picnic Trip to Gwanak."

At the Experience Yard, there will be rice planting experiences that cannot be found in Seoul, as well as a program called "Show Off My Garden Crops," where eco-friendly gardeners showcase and share the crops they have grown. Through this, the festival aims to widely promote traditional agricultural culture and contribute to the spread of a warm sharing culture.

In particular, Gwanak-gu operates its own apiary, and at this festival, residents can taste honey produced by the district (a gift from the Gwanaksan honeybees) and participate in programs using honey.

At the Learning Yard, 16 types of urban agriculture educational programs will be offered for families to enjoy together, including ▲Garden Brunch ▲Herb Mojito Making ▲Comforting Companion Plant Experience ▲Find the Garden Insects for Children ▲Fan Making, and more.

Residents wishing to participate in the experience programs can apply for their desired programs from May 27 to June 7 through the internet portal "Seoul Metropolitan Public Service Reservation," and some programs will also accept on-site registration.

At the Culture Yard, busking performances such as Atti Classic and street performances by Gwanak youth art clubs will be held, providing enjoyment for visitors.

Additionally, the district will offer small pleasures to residents visiting the festival. A photo zone will be set up where residents can take pictures with family, lovers, and friends to create lasting memories.

A district official said, "In early summer when the greenery deepens, we hope everyone enjoys the festival with a light heart and has a healing time at the pleasant Nakseongdae Park," and added, "We ask for the active interest and enthusiastic participation of residents."
