"Goal of Becoming the Ruling Party... Will Bring About the Election of the President"
Reorganizing Regional Party Chapters of City and Provincial Parties... Publishing General Election White Paper
Heo Eun-ah, the newly appointed party leader of the Reform New Party, began her official schedule on the 20th by paying respects at the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery.
On the morning of the same day, Leader Heo visited the National Seoul Memorial Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, along with the party leadership, paid tribute at the Memorial Tower, and wrote in the guestbook, "We will uphold the will of the pioneers and open the future of reform."
The Reform New Party held its first party convention at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, the day before, electing candidate Heo as party leader with a final vote share of 38.38%. Candidates Lee Gi-in (35.34%), Cho Dae-won (11.48%), and Jeon Seong-gyun (9.86%), who ranked 2nd to 4th respectively, were appointed as supreme council members, completing the formation of the second-term leadership.
Leader Heo expressed her ambition to elevate the Reform New Party into a ruling party. After the memorial visit, she moved to the National Assembly to preside over the supreme council meeting, stating, "The People Power Party has been passing the blame for the general election defeat within the party and has not started writing the election white paper even after 40 days. The Democratic Party of Korea is embroiled in a noisy family feud over the Speaker of the National Assembly position. Only the Reform New Party is on the right path. We will clearly set our goal as a ruling party and a normal political party." In her acceptance speech the day before, she also emphasized, "We will definitely bring about a Reform New Party (affiliated) president."

She will also embark on full-scale party reorganization efforts. Leader Heo said, "We will normalize the provincial and local party branches that we could not establish due to holding the general election immediately after the party's founding, and we will immediately develop a party member application to reflect members' opinions in legislation and policy decisions." She added, "Now that the party convention is over, we will soon begin publishing the general election white paper."
She also plans to strengthen the opposition's offensive against the ruling party. Regarding the proposal of the special prosecutor law by Chae Sang-byeong, Leader Heo said, "Former Leader Lee was the most proactive in calling for it, and we will support it." She added, "Although I have not spoken with the elected members in the National Assembly, we will maintain that stance." On constitutional amendment, she said, "The Reform New Party is known to be discussing the four-year single-term system."
Meanwhile, the new Leader Heo entered the National Assembly as a proportional representative from the Future Korea Party, a satellite party of the United Future Party (now People Power Party), in the 2020 general election. In 2022, she was active in the 'Cheonhayongin' group (Cheon Ha-ram, Heo Eun-ah, Kim Yong-tae, Lee Gi-in), close associates of former leader Lee Jun-seok, and served as the chief spokesperson for the People Power Party. Earlier this year, she left the People Power Party with former leader Lee and joined the Reform New Party.
