In the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 19th (local time), he earned 8.75 points, moving up one spot from 3rd place last week. He accumulated points by shooting 6 under par in the 4th round of the 106th PGA Championship, the second major tournament of the year, held at Valhalla Golf Club (par 71, 7,609 yards) in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, finishing with a one-stroke victory (21 under par 263). This is his first major championship title. The winner's prize money was $3.33 million (approximately 4.5 billion KRW).

Schauffele completed a 'wire-to-wire' victory, never relinquishing the top spot throughout the tournament. The 21 under par is a new record for the most under par in the history of the four major men's golf championships. The previous record was 20 under par, held by Jason Day (Australia) at the 2015 PGA Championship, Henrik Stenson (Sweden) at the 2016 Open Championship, Dustin Johnson (USA) at the 2020 Masters, and Cameron Smith (Australia) at the 2022 Open Championship. This win marks his 8th career victory on the PGA Tour.

Scottie Scheffler (USA) maintained his No. 1 position as usual. Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) dropped one spot to 3rd. Wyndham Clark (USA) is 4th, and Viktor Hovland (Norway) is 5th. South Korea's An Byeong-hun is 23rd, Kim Joo-hyung 26th, Im Sung-jae 34th, and Kim Si-woo 42nd. Choi Kyung-ju, winner of the KPGA Tour SK Telecom Open, jumped from 2460th last week to 747th.
