Next-Generation Beauty Device 'Booster Pro' Officially Launches in Mainland China
Mainland China Beauty Market Reaches KRW 91.7 Trillion Last Year... Second Largest Globally
Beauty tech company APR is expanding its local influence as its flagship beauty device enters the Chinese mainland market.
APR announced that the 'Booster Pro' from its beauty device brand 'MediCube Age-R' will officially launch in the Chinese mainland market starting in May. The Booster Pro, first introduced in October last year as APR's next-generation beauty device, is currently the flagship product of the Age-R brand.
APR explained that the official launch of the Booster Pro aims to expand its influence in the home beauty device market in China. Since its initial entry into the beauty device market in 2022, APR has been actively targeting the Chinese market. As a result, in the first quarter of this year, it ranked 9th in the beauty device category on Douyin, TikTok's service in China. It is the only domestic brand alongside Japan's Ya-Man among the top 10 overseas brands.
APR's strategy is to further solidify its presence in the global beauty market through strengthening its position in China. China ranks second in the global beauty market, following the United States. According to the global market research firm Statista, China's beauty and personal care market reached $67.18 billion (approximately 91.7 trillion KRW) as of last year.
Local consumers' interest in home beauty devices is gradually increasing. According to KOTRA, the Chinese home beauty device market has been growing at a double-digit rate annually and is expected to reach 21.3 billion yuan (approximately 4 trillion KRW) by 2026.
APR plans to continue its market penetration in China through active marketing on online media platforms. In particular, it is planning collaborations with 'Wanghong' influencers who have a significant impact on the Chinese economy. APR has previously achieved results in overseas markets through influencers and pop-up stores, in addition to its domestic efforts.
An APR representative stated, "Although the U.S. market has recently emerged overseas, China is also a massive market that cannot be overlooked," adding, "We will strive to captivate Chinese consumers as well, based on our innovative beauty tech that has won over consumers both domestically and internationally."
