Green K Farm, a subsidiary of Green Plus, a smart farm specialized company, announced on the 20th that it received the "Notification of Recognition of Standards and Specifications for Food Ingredients" from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for "Cissus (C. quadrangularis) stem powder."
Green K Farm, a subsidiary of Green Plus, operates smart farms, vertical farms, and plant factories. In 2021, it successfully completed the cultivation of "Cissus," a grape family plant that grows in tropical regions such as India, in Korea's first smart farm greenhouse. Green K Farm secured safety and quality excellence by excluding the possibility of harmful substances during Cissus cultivation using its proprietary patented technologies, including the ▲root zone heating and cooling system ▲up-down system.
Park Jeong-gi, CEO of Green K Farm, said, "Green K Farm is currently the only company in Korea that directly cultivates and manufactures Cissus," adding, "With this MFDS certification, it is now possible to manufacture and sell general foods in the form of tea bags, infusion teas, solid teas, and processed fruit and vegetable products."
He continued, "We plan to enter the health functional food market by obtaining additional health functionality certification for 'Cissus stem powder' in the future," emphasizing, "Through this, we plan to diversify distribution and sales channels targeting various consumer groups and expand our business."
