'Come Visit, Daehangno! Car-Free Street'... Opening on the 25th of This Month

'Come Visit, Daehangno! Car-Free Street'... Opening on the 25th of This Month Jongno-gu, Seoul will hold the event "Come Visit! Daehakro, Car-Free Street" five times from May to October this year. Provided by Jongno-gu Office.

Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will hold the event "Come Play, Daehakro! Car-Free Street" on the main boulevard of Daehakro from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM on the 25th. This event will be held under the theme "A Heart-Throbbing Day, Flirty Daehakro."


On this day, the 350-meter section from Hyehwa Station Exit 1 to the entrance of Seoul National University Hospital will be transformed into a cultural plaza, focusing on providing various performance contents and cultural programs for citizens. Vehicle access will be restricted from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM between Hyehwa Station Exit 1 and the East Gate of Seoul National University Hospital.


The main programs include "Central Park Music Date (Musicals and plays abound)," "Start! Dream Team, Sports Date (Run hand in hand)," "Acapella Busking Harmony Date (Sing in harmony)," "Sound Shower DJ SHOW (EDM DJ party, entrust yourself to the music)," and "Music Waterfall Proposal Date (Hold flowers and kiss)."


Among these, the Central Park Music Date features a 30-minute showcase of performances beloved in Daehakro for a long time, including groups from the Korea Acapella Association such as 3 Seconds Before, Orange Sky, Healing in the Radio, Leaving Work at 6, Inside Me, Detective K, and the Magic Troupe. The purpose is to widely promote the symbolic significance of Daehakro as the representative performing arts hub of Korea and to invigorate the area.


Various side events and experiential programs open to all ages include "Art Boutique Sensibility Road Date (Experience sensibility)," "Sweet Daehakro Date (Taste 100 desserts)," "Craft Pop-up Shop (Feel the care at your fingertips)," and "Green Park Book Picnic (A resting space to relax)."


Additionally, Jongno-gu will provide participants with a 10% discount voucher usable at nearby stores to revitalize the local economy. This year’s car-free street events will be held five times in total, starting on the 25th of this month, followed by Saturdays on June 29, August 31, September 28, and once more in October.
