‘Geumcheon Harmony Festival’ Hosts Inauguration Ceremony for New City Brand ‘Good City Geumcheon’

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 18th at the opening ceremony of the Geumcheon Harmony Festival the proclamation of a new city brand (BI), ‘Good City GeumCheon’.


‘Good City GeumCheon’ is the district’s new city brand developed to mark 2025, the 30th anniversary of the district’s establishment, as a starting point for new changes and challenges. It expresses a future-oriented image of Geumcheon’s development with the concise and clear theme, “A good city is Geumcheon.”


The proclamation ceremony was attended by resident committee members of the city brand development promotion team and many residents who came to enjoy the festival, expressing their expectations for the new city brand.


Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, personally introduced the process, meaning, and symbolism of the birth of the new city brand, garnering empathy and positive responses from the residents.


Following the introduction of the city brand, a spectacular light-emitting diode (LED) performance and a stylish promotional video aroused residents’ interest in the new city brand.


A resident who participated in the proclamation ceremony said, “The city brand was simple, and the font and colors were eye-catching, which I liked. The mayor’s introduction helped me understand its meaning well,” adding, “I hope Geumcheon-gu develops into a good city like the city brand.”


On the morning of the proclamation day, Geumcheon Family Health Walking event was held, where district office employees participated and walked around the Anyangcheon area with residents to promote the city brand. The employees wore T-shirts and headbands with the city brand and conducted a promotional campaign.


The district opened and operated a city brand promotion center at the district office plaza during the festival period from the 18th to the 19th. An event was held for residents who correctly identified the city brand, giving away city brand-related souvenirs such as umbrellas, keychains, and socks.


Additionally, a hands-on program was conducted where residents could decorate their own postcards using stamps of the city brand and other district symbols, promoting a shared understanding of the new city brand among residents.

The district plans to use the newly developed city brand in ongoing projects, promotional sculptures, and public facilities. The city brand promotional video will be posted on the official website, YouTube, and other media, and various souvenirs will be produced and promoted through resident participation events.


Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “The newly developed city brand ahead of the 30th anniversary of the district’s establishment symbolizes the direction our district will take and the future of Geumcheon,” adding, “We hope for the residents’ great interest in the new city brand and will do our best to help Geumcheon make a fresh leap as a ‘good city to live in.’”
