A world-first 'bridge hotel' offering panoramic views of the Han River will be established on the Hangang Bridge in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 19th that the 'Jiknyeo Cafe,' a viewing cafe located on the upper part of Hangang Bridge, will be remodeled into a suite-level hotel and officially opened from July 16.
The hotel features a 144㎡ private room consisting of a living room, bedroom, and bathroom.
The vibrant and stylish interior design was handled by Airbnb, a global online lodging platform.
The hotel has a total of five floor-to-ceiling windows on the living room walls and ceiling, as well as in the bedroom, allowing guests to enjoy views of the Han River from any space.
The usage fee is expected to be set between 340,000 and 500,000 KRW. Reservations can be made through Airbnb.
On the opening day, July 16, the city will hold a 'free stay event' allowing guests to spend one night at the viewing hotel free of charge.
Citizens wishing to apply for the event can submit a story of about 1,000 characters on 'touching love for family or touching friendship with friends' on the Seoul city website (mediahub.seoul.go.kr/missions/2000164) by the 22nd.
