Call for Applications for 'Customized Export Support Project' Targeting Organic Processed Food Companies

Nonggwanwon Participates in World's Largest Organic Food Expo and Supports Export Consultation Meetings

The National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service announced on the 19th that it will open a customized export support project for organic processed food companies to help domestic organic processed food companies enter overseas markets and develop sales channels.

Although the export volume of domestic organic processed foods has been steadily increasing, its scale is not large, which has somewhat limited the activation of domestic eco-friendly agriculture. Also, there have not been many cases of actively entering overseas markets using equivalence agreements concluded with various countries. The export support projects were not designed reflecting the demands of organic processed food companies, the policy customers, and were carried out as one-time events rather than systematic cooperation with private companies.

The NAQS reviewed the export support system and redesigned detailed projects to ensure that organic processed food exports can practically contribute to the activation of domestic eco-friendly agriculture. First, as a result of consultations with organic processed food companies interested in exports, the "Korea Organic Processed Food Export Council" was established in January this year. Through the council, NAQS identified the support projects needed by companies and reflected them in the "2024 Organic Processed Food Export Activation Support Project," which is now open for applications.

Among the support projects, the online export consultation and buyer invitation export consultation support one-on-one export consultations between organic processed food companies and buyers from countries where they wish to export (such as the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Canada, etc.).

The overseas local export consultation dispatches certified organic processed food companies to the United States, which has an equivalence agreement with Korea, to provide opportunities for export consultations with local buyers. At the same time, it supports certified companies' overseas market entry through export strategy seminars and organic food market research.

Director Park Sung-woo said, "We plan to provide customized export support to companies so that organic processed food exports can play a significant role in activating domestic eco-friendly agriculture," adding, "Separately from the support projects, we plan to support enhancing the capabilities of organic processed food companies through cooperation with related organizations."

The application period for the organic processed food export activation support project is from the 20th to June 7th. Detailed information can be found on the NAQS website and the Eco-friendly Certification Information System.
