Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Organization has signed business implementation agreements and tenancy contracts with the 14 companies that were finally selected through the '2024 Gyeongbuk Tourism Startup Contest'.
This contest accepted applications for one month starting from March 4. Out of 63 participating companies, 27 were selected through the first round of document screening, and after the second round of presentations and duplicate benefit reviews, a final total of 14 companies (6 pre-startups and 8 early-stage startups) were chosen.
Representatives of 14 tourism startups selected by the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Corporation are gathered in one place for a commemorative photo.
The final selections include 6 pre-startup companies?Yeo Juhyeon:Dongcheon, Framepick, Blanc, Seuchyeogan Dongmul, Hamohamo, Jeomseonmyeon (tentative name)?and 8 early-stage startups?Noxgoji, Ttingtting Lab, House of Choi, Double M, Veteran Society, Gyeongju Humanities Institute, Onnamu, and Healing Meditation. These companies utilize the abundant tourism resources of the 22 cities and counties in Gyeongbuk Province.
Among them, 10 companies in the commercialization funding category will receive 10 million KRW for pre-startups and 20 million KRW for early-stage startups. In addition to infrastructure and facility support at the Gyeongbuk Tourism Enterprise Support Center, they will be provided with business development programs such as a startup academy and accelerating services.
President Kim Namil stated, "Through the provision of commercialization funds and workspace support for the selected companies, we will help them build sustainable business models and foster their growth," adding, "We will continue to discover and nurture tourism startups that will lead the future of the Gyeongbuk tourism industry."
