This agreement was promoted to establish a public-private cooperation network for the early detection of households at social risk such as disability, illness, poverty, and death among tenants living in the one-room towns of Sangmu 1-dong and Geumho 2-dong, aiming to prevent solitary deaths.
Earlier, Seo-gu coordinated opinions at regular meetings of each building owners' association after establishing the project plan in February, and will begin full-scale operation starting with this agreement.
The 45 members of the building owners' associations were appointed as honorary social welfare officers to serve as a human resource network for discovering households in crisis, and will also carry out awareness improvement and promotional campaign activities regarding social isolation.
Through this, Seo-gu plans to provide customized welfare services to the discovered households in crisis, including support for public utility fee arrears, basic livelihood security, welfare checks, and support for specialized project funds through public contests.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "Through this business agreement, we will establish a protection system by forming social networks between building owners and tenants living alone," adding, "I hope everyone cooperates with responsibility and a sense of mission so that residents in crisis can escape social isolation, and Seo-gu will also do its best to support and connect welfare services."
