20s Woman Falls to Death from Incheon Officetel
Severely Injured and Transported to Hospital but Ultimately Dies
Police "Will Request Examination for Drug Use"
A woman in her 20s who was holding onto a railing in an officetel in Incheon fell to the ground and died.
According to Yonhap News, around 7 p.m. on the 16th, Ms. A (female, in her 20s) fell from the balcony railing on the 12th floor of an officetel in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu. Ms. A sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from the 119 emergency medical team, but she ultimately passed away.
The accident occurred while police and fire authorities were responding to a fall hazard report and were installing safety equipment such as an air mattress. Investigation revealed that the officetel belonged to an acquaintance of Ms. A, and she was living alone there at the time of the accident.
The police stated that they are investigating with multiple possibilities open, as they have doubts about Ms. A’s actions prior to the fall. A police official said, "We cannot conclude anything at this point, but we will request a drug use test from the National Forensic Service. We also plan to verify Ms. A’s activities before her death."
