On the 15th (local time), British media such as The Independent introduced the story of a 37-year age-gap couple from Georgia, USA. The couple, 26-year-old Kuran McCain and 63-year-old Cheryl McGregor, announced that they are expecting their first child. They recently shared a TikTok video saying, "Today we went to the hospital with the surrogate mother, and it was confirmed that we are having our baby." McGregor also revealed an ultrasound image showing the fetus. Husband McCain expressed, "I cried with joy when I first found out about the pregnancy." While this is McCain's first child, McGregor already has seven children from her 30s and 40s and 17 grandchildren.
The couple had previously announced their first surrogate birth in 2022. However, when it was revealed that the surrogate had sexual relations with another partner, they terminated the contract in May of the following year. They then engaged two more surrogates but were unsuccessful in conceiving. This time, the pregnancy was successful with the fourth surrogate.
However, McCain stated, "My wife is not the biological mother, but blood ties do not make a family," and added, "She will be the best mom." This suggests that the surrogate's eggs, rather than the wife's, were used in this pregnancy.
McCain first met McGregor when he was 15 while working at a fast-food restaurant run by McGregor's son. They became a couple in 2020 and got married in July 2021. Since then, the couple has been sharing their story through TikTok.
