Exem, a specialized company in IT integrated performance management, announced on the 16th that it recorded sales of 9.1 billion KRW and an operating loss of 2.9 billion KRW on a consolidated basis in the first quarter of this year.
Exem explained that operating losses and net losses occurred due to fixed costs, including labor costs. Considering the IT industry's characteristic of a sales off-season, it is expected that profitability will improve this year.
Exem's consolidated sales in its existing major businesses, the Database Performance Management (DBPM) sector and the Application Performance Management (APM) sector, increased by 13% and 23% respectively compared to the same period last year. In the first quarter, it solidified its market position as a leading monitoring solution provider. Significant supply achievements were reflected with major semiconductor companies and central administrative agencies, as well as various major banks, regional banks, internet banks, and comprehensive credit information companies as clients. It was selected for new system infrastructure construction projects such as the Police Agency Basic Data Integration System and the Korea Industrial Human Resources Corporation HRDK Next-Generation Qualification Information System.
In the big data sector, some operational sales were recognized, including the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Big Data Integrated Storage Operation project. Following the Jeju Agriculture Digital Transformation Foundation project in March, it recently won a big data platform construction project for a medical foundation. It is supplying the big data storage and operation management platform EBIGs and participating in the construction of big data platforms. Recently, it secured a major shipbuilding company as a new customer for EBIGs.
The all-in-one integrated monitoring solution exemONE, launched in April, is also progressing smoothly. With the transition to the cloud, IT infrastructure environments are being reorganized into hybrid environments that combine on-premises systems and cloud systems. There is a clear increase in demand to monitor and manage on-premises, cloud, and infrastructure environments integrally. exemONE has already been adopted by large financial companies and major electronics companies. More than 10 companies and institutions, including key public institutions, educational institutions, and large-scale distribution groups, are reviewing its introduction.
Overseas, in Japan, with the acceleration of digital transformation and worsening IT workforce shortages, service sales including remote DB technical support service SmartDBA are increasing. Recently, a system operation company affiliated with SoftBank was secured as a new customer. In China, it is smoothly continuing its business by securing two new financial institutions as customers.
Exem CEO Ko Pyeong-seok said, "By maximizing business capabilities up to integrated monitoring, we are further solidifying our market position as a leader in the IT performance monitoring market."
