The police have applied for arrest warrants for some members of the Korean University Students Progressive Union (Daejin-yeon) who were caught attempting to enter the Presidential Office in Yongsan, Seoul, last January.

According to the police on the 15th, the Yongsan Police Station applied for arrest warrants on the 13th for four Daejin-yeon members on charges including violation of the Act on the Punishment of Violent Crimes (joint trespassing of a building). The pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant hearing) will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the 17th at the Seoul Western District Court.

Earlier, on January 6, 20 Daejin-yeon members gathered in front of the Presidential Office, shouting slogans such as "Special investigation on Kim Geon-hee," and attempted to enter through checkpoints while requesting a meeting with the Presidential Office.

Meanwhile, at that time, the police applied for arrest warrants for 16 people, but the prosecution did not request warrants for six of them considering their criminal records and ages. The arrest warrants requested for 10 people were all dismissed.
