On the 14th at 6:30 PM, Oh Seung-rok, the Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 'Completion Ceremony for the Signboard Improvement Project along Dongil-ro in Gongneung-dong' held at Saenara Children's Park in Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul.
The completion ceremony marked the result of the signboard improvement project conducted on the Dongil-ro section of Gongneung-dong (a total of 2 km) in both directions from Gongneung Station to Taereung Entrance Station, completed in December 2022. The project aimed to enhance the image of Gongneung-dong in Nowon-gu and create a pleasant living environment for residents through the improvement of beautiful signboards.
The district announced that through this project, ▲153 outdated signboards of businesses were replaced ▲window advertisements were organized ▲building facade environments were cleaned up ▲illegal advertisements were removed.
Additionally, the replaced signboards were installed as energy-saving LED signboards, contributing not only to the improvement of the street image in Gongneung-dong but also to the practice of carbon neutrality.
At the completion ceremony, about 100 people including Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, members of the National Assembly, city and district council members, signboard improvement resident committee members, business owners involved in the signboard improvement, and residents of Gongneung 1-dong attended. The event proceeded in the order of opening, introduction of guests, progress report, greetings, commemorative photo, and a tour of the project area.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “I thank everyone who worked hard on the Gongneung Station signboard improvement project,” and added, “We will continue various policies and support to raise the dignity of Nowon and create a pleasant living environment that can revitalize the local commercial district.”
