Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Visits Mangwon Market with Ahn Deok-geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited Mangwon Market on the afternoon of the 14th along with Ahn Deok-geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, where the ‘Donghaeng Festival’ was being held.

The ‘Donghaeng Festival’ is an economic revitalization campaign created together by the government, local governments, large, medium, and small enterprises, and small business owners, and Mangwon Market also participated in the festival.

On this day, Mayor Park Gang-su and Minister Ahn Deok-geun visited stores within Mangwon Market to check on the cost of living and encouraged market merchants, purchasing traditional Korean sweets (Hangwa) and side dishes to promote domestic consumption.

Mayor Park Gang-su stated, “I hope the Donghaeng Festival will serve as an opportunity to restore weakened consumer sentiment and revitalize the local economy,” adding, “Mapo District will continue to actively listen to the voices of merchants and communicate to promote the development of traditional markets and the revitalization of commercial districts.”
