The KOSPI closed near the 2730 level, maintaining a cautious stance ahead of the U.S. April Consumer Price Index (CPI) announcement.
On the 14th, the KOSPI closed at 2730.34, up 3.13 points (0.11%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individual investors sold a net 187.2 billion won. In contrast, foreigners and institutions bought a net 85.2 billion won and 120.8 billion won, respectively.
By sector, medical precision rose 2.60%, and electric and gas utilities increased 2.11%. Additionally, construction, insurance, and chemicals rose more than 1%. Meanwhile, food and beverages fell 1.33%. Transportation and warehousing, as well as financial sectors, closed slightly lower.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 78,300 won, down 100 won (0.13%) from the previous trading day. Meanwhile, SK Hynix rose 0.82%. LG Chem increased 2.94%, and LG Energy Solution and Samsung SDI each closed up more than 1%.
On this day’s KOSPI, SK Etronics hit the upper price limit, with 527 stocks rising and 344 stocks falling without any hitting the lower price limit. Sixty-two stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 862.15, up 7.72 points (0.90%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individual investors sold a net 253.7 billion won. Conversely, foreigners and institutions bought a net 201 billion won and 63.6 billion won, respectively.
By sector, other services rose 2.72%. Financials, semiconductors, and entertainment and culture sectors also rose more than 1%. Meanwhile, broadcasting services fell 1.06%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed unchanged at 210,500 won. EcoPro rose 3.05%, and Alteogen surged 6.14%. Meanwhile, HLB fell 3.47%. Enchem and Hugel closed down 2.16% and 1.24%, respectively.
On the KOSDAQ, ITM Semiconductor and Tomato System hit the upper price limit, with 1,019 stocks rising. Meanwhile, 515 stocks fell without any hitting the lower price limit, and 101 stocks closed unchanged.
