Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, Fully Committed to Enhancing Mental Health of Female Paramedics

Program Operated for 20 Female Firefighters Affiliated with Jeonnam Fire Department

Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital (Director Min Jeong-jun) is making efforts to promote the mental health of female paramedics.


According to Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital on the 14th, the Public Health Medical Project Office recently operated a 'Burnout Management Program' for 20 female paramedics belonging to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters at the Naju Forest Resources Research Institute Healing Center.

This program is part of the 'Mental Health Promotion Cooperation Project,' a mandatory healthcare cooperation field of the public health medical cooperation system construction project.


It was prepared to improve the job stress and burnout prevention and coping abilities of paramedics working in community mental health.


The 'Burnout Management Program' featured various contents, including special lectures such as 'Understanding Burnout' by Professor Park Won-joo of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, and 'Me in Natural Objects' by Professor Kang Gwang-soon of the Department of Nursing at Gwangju University, along with storytelling activities involving natural objects.


Professor Park Won-joo said, “We had a meaningful time teaching female paramedics effective ways to manage job stress and sharing the difficulties they experience in the field.”
