[Breaking] Prosecution Seeks 3 Years 6 Months Imprisonment for Kim Seong-tae in 'Lee Hwa-young Bribery and North Korea Remittance' Case

The prosecution has requested a prison sentence of 3 years and 6 months for Kim Seong-tae, former chairman of Ssangbangwool Group, who was indicted on charges of bribing Lee Hwa-young, former Deputy Governor for Peace of Gyeonggi Province, and remitting funds to North Korea on behalf of Gyeonggi Province.


On the 14th, the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office asked the court to impose this prison term during the final hearing of Kim's case, which was held before the Criminal Division 11 of the Suwon District Court (Presiding Judge Shin Jin-woo), on charges including bribery, violation of the Political Funds Act, and violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.
