Cheongsong-gun Achieves Excellence in Government Joint Evaluation for City and County Assessment

Gyeongbuk Province Selected as Excellent County

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, was selected as an excellent county in the city and county evaluation of Gyeongbuk Province in the ‘2024 Government Joint Evaluation’.

Cheongsong-gun selected as an excellent county in Gyeongbuk Province in the 2024 Government Joint Evaluation.

The Government Joint Evaluation, which began in 1961 with the review and analysis system of the Prime Minister's Office, is a comprehensive evaluation system based on the ‘Basic Act on Government Work Evaluation’ enacted in 2006. It assesses the performance of major national policy implementations carried out by central administrative agencies and local governments.

It is the first time since the system was implemented that Cheongsong-gun has been selected as an excellent county within Gyeongbuk Province in the Government Joint Evaluation, which evaluates national delegated tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies targeting local governments.

The ‘2024 Government Joint Evaluation,’ which assesses the 2023 performance, was conducted by scoring the achievement of goals across 100 indicators, consisting of 89 indicators for national delegated tasks and 11 indicators for provincial priority policies, and was evaluated separately for cities and counties.

To achieve the goals of the Government Joint Evaluation, Cheongsong-gun established an implementation plan, conducted monthly performance checks, and held progress reporting meetings to identify problems and countermeasures for underperforming indicators, systematically preparing for the evaluation.

As a result, Cheongsong-gun achieved all 4 out of 4 indicators in the social welfare sector and 5 out of 7 indicators in the regional innovation sector, receiving higher scores than the average achievement of other regions. Most notably, Cheongsong was the only county to achieve the target for the public childcare utilization rate indicator.

County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee said, “It is meaningful that our efforts toward the leap of Cheongsong-gun and the happy lives of our residents have been objectively proven in the Government Joint Evaluation. We will strive even harder to provide administrative services that satisfy all residents by supplementing the areas where we are lacking.”
